TREKKING THE INCA TRAIL
In the Urubamba River Valley, within a spectacular setting of lush jungle vegetation and rugged mountainous landscapes, lies Machu Picchu. The Inca Trail is just a small part of an Incan Highway system that integrated the Four Regions of the Tawantinsuyo Empire.

Tour Description
All our programmes can be tailor made according to your requirements, whether regarding the length of your tour, any special interests or specific activities, flight reservations, optional destinations or tours.
DAY 01: Cusco - km 82 - Huayllabamba
Transfer from your hotel to the train station on the way to km 104, where we will start the short Inca Trail towards Machu Picchu. We will cross the bridge over the Rio Urubamba River where we will visit the first archaeological zone called Chachabamba. Two hours later after ascending the mountain, we will be able to look over and have a view over an extensive archaeological zone in a beautiful natural setting of the mountain called Wiñaywayna. Continuing our trek we will arrive at the so called Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol or Sun Gate, where we will have our first view of Machu Picchu.
We will descend the mountain to arrive at the Citadel of Machu Picchu itself. We will then descend the mountain in a van to the Village of Aguas Calientes. Overnight in Hotel of your choice. (Not Included).

DAY 02: Machu Picchu - Cusco
Early in the morning we will return to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. We will have several optional walks to choose from, within the Citadel itself. We could start out with an ascent to the Inti Punku Sun gate, the main entrance for people coming from the Inca Trail. Or we can go directly up to the Sacred Huayna Picchu Young Mountain Peak, from where we will have an incomparable view of the Citadel of Machu Picchu. Free time for exploring the Citadel itself and then we will join up with the rest of the group and descend in a van to the Village of Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon we will board the train to return to the City of Cusco. When we reach the City of Cusco, transfer to the hotel of your choice.
