Tour Description
Cusco, which means ‘Naval of the World’ in Quecha, is a truly remarkable city that has plenty to offer travellers and tourists alike. It is a colourful, vibrant city with a rich history. This tour will take you to the most important sites in and around Cusco, showing you the past and the present of the Inca Empire. We visit the magnificent citadel of Machupicchu, by far the most important attraction on your itinerary to Peru. This lost city was only discovered in 1911 and is considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world. Come with us to share this unforgettable adventure.
ITINERARY
DAY 01: International Arrival in Lima
Upon arrival in Lima you will be met and transferred to your hotel in the lively neighbourhood of Miraflores. If you arrive early you can choose an optional museum tour.
DAY 02: Lima / Cusco
An early transfer to the airport for your 55 minute flight to Cusco where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Free afternoon to relax in the city and gently adjust to the altitude.
DAY 03: Cusco - City Tour
Free morning to wander around Cusco. In the afternoon we enjoy a CITY TOUR in touristic bus visiting the most important Inca sites and colonial buildings of Cusco.
DAY 04: Cusco - Sacred Valley
Full day tour. Departing from Cusco in the early morning we travel by touristic bus to the SACRED VALLEY where we visit the town of Pisac with its typical Indian market, the beautiful fortress town of Ollantaytambo with its impressive stone masonry and Chincheros with its rich colonial and Inca constructions.
DAY 05: Cusco – Machupicchu
Full day tour. We take the early morning train running through the Urubamba Valley to Aguas Calientes. Here we take the bus up to Machupicchu for an official 2 hour tour with our professional guide who will help us understand the sophisticated ideas and technology of this highly-advanced culture. Afterwards we have plenty of time to explore on our own before taking the bus back down to Aguas Calientes and boarding our train that will take us back to Cusco. (B)
One Day Optional Extension
If you want to extend your stay in Machupicchu and take the opportunity to visit and enjoy the nightlife of the nearby town of Aguas Calientes, go to the natural thermal baths and, most importantly, give yourself a second chance to enjoy the magical and magnificent construction of Machupicchu, please let us know and we can arrange this for you accordingly.
DAY 06: Cusco
You have a day of leisure with the option to explore the city by yourself or take an optional half or full day tour. We offer sporting days out, e.g. rafting, horse riding or mountain biking and also various walking tours. Please let us know in advance if you would like to book an optional tour.
DAY 07: Cusco – Lima
Transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the airport for the flight back to Lima. Upon arrival you will be met by our transfer team and taken to your hotel. Today you have the option of a Lima City Tour.
DAY 08: Lima - Home
Time to pack and say goodbye to your adventure in Peru. In the evening you are transferred to the airport for your international flight home.
